Responsibilities
Identify areas of opportunity and then formulate and execute plans to capitalize on them. It can involve everything from providing advice on fundraising and marketing to helping the leadership make key hires. Understanding of government and defense acquisition mechanics is highly desired.
Collaboration
RPS frequently engages in unpaid long-term collaboration projects with volunteers who are enthusiastic about our mission. The volunteers can gain valuable experience engaging with real-world propulsion related problems and understand the inner working of a small deep-tech business like RPS. The results from these projects feed directly into our long-term development goals (see more here) and are owned by RPS. Here are the current collaboration projects we are exploring:
- Application of machine learning for combustion instability forecasting and control in liquid rocket engines
- Application of microwave sensors for nonintrusive health monitoring in harsh environments developed within rocket or aero combustors
- Thermal management in cryogenic stages on deep space missions
- Trajectory analysis and optimization for flight vehicles with liquid propellants
